funny enough my favorite part of QT is working the register which is probably a lot of people's least favorite job.
idk, something about how QT prioritizes speed but doesn't measure your customer throughput or any dumb shit like that, and they're fine with you taking a little longer on a customer that's got a more complicated transaction. If you have more than 3 customers in line you flip a switch to call over other clerks to help out, so getting overwhelmed is not super common. You have two sides of the register to work so you can be insanely efficient - once you see your customer taking out a card to pay, you can take a half-step to the other side of the register and start helping the next person. So what was once the most irritating part of register work to me - waiting an irritatingly long time for a customer to pay and get their things so I can help the next person - is now essentially a non-issue.
Besides the leg pain from standing in place for hours, I could work register all day tbh.
Oh yeah and having learned how to count change properly and the computer making you do it yourself makes every cash transaction into a fun little easy puzzle. Like a 5x5 picross or something. So you don't get that bored either.
Trying to look on the bright side and all.
