To be fair: I've used my (e-)cig to charge both my phone and my (e-)book before, so innovation isn't dead yet.
there was a series of gadgets sold at radio shack in the late 70s through 80s - the Kubes. there were AM and FM radios, a weather radio, and a shortwave one that would tune in the time station, and also, because it was the late 70s through 80s, a butane table lighter. and i have one.
I have one of these! But I don't smoke, so it doesn't get enough use. 🤷♀️
I'm curious if keeping the flame on too long will melt the calculator circuitry, but obviously I'm not going to find out since they're not making more of them.
