It's been a perennial issue for me. Like ¾ of the images I try to save from Google Messages end up at the very beginning of my gallery, dated 12-31-1969. The app is doing some bullshit where it resets the date to unix time 0 or something. No reason for it. This is basic functionality that has never been addressed. I wondered if it could be some limitation of MMS, but this continues to happen with images sent theoretically losslessly over RCS, so it's definitely the app.
