I maintain that The Outsiders is a bad book and an equally bad film.
I use outdated technology just for fun, listen to crappy music, and watch a lot of horror movies. Expect posts about These Things. I talk a lot.

I watched it and read it in middle school but I honestly don't remember anything about it, what makes it bad?
It's melodrama to the point of parody. It takes itself far too seriously than it earns. You can see every plot beat coming from a mile away. It thinks it's way deeper than it is, they put so much weight on the line "stay golden, ponyboy" when that line is so forced in there and cringe it reads like something out of a fanfiction written by a 15 year old. Turns out the original book was written by a 15 year old.
