I've seen doctors complaining that too many trans people are "doing it as a political thing, not a medical thing"
and bro it's not that I want to be doing it as a political thing
but it turns out that if you do the medical thing, politics keeps fucking happening to you
anyway I'm trying to see a new healthcare provider but in order to fill out their forms correctly so I have a hope of getting my claim approved, first I have to call my insurance company to find out if I am male or female
actually if I am being honest this is a little unfair because I kind of am doing it as a political thing but I think I came up with the politics to sort of backfill an underlying physical dysphoria because I'm the sort of incurable rationalizer who needs to write a thousand page essay about "The cultural baggage of Hydration as health behavior" before I can convince myself to drink a glass of water
but the real real truth is that all medicine is political
