I got my first UHD Blu-Ray player (the Sony UBP-X800M2, at the recommendation of @jkap) and plenty of good shit to go with it!
- Star Trek films 1-6 on UHD
- Angel Heart from 1987 on UHD in a steelbook case; a very stylized noir flick that looks interesting.
- Ultra Q from 1966 on Blu-Ray in a steelbook case (predecessor to Ultraman, which I've never seen, but this was $10 at Best Buy so I decided to check it out. If I dig it I'll probably go back and get Ultraman!)
- Poltergeist from 1982 on UHD. Poltergeist is simply one of my favorite movies of all time, it is The Perfect Movie in my mind, someday I'll make a post rambling about my love for it.
- Akira from 1988 on UHD. Can you believe I've never seen Akira? Neither can I.
- Mad God from 2021 on Blu-Ray, in a steelbook case. I've been meaning to see this one since it came out, but I wasn't going to subscribe to Shudder just to watch it. Found on the shelf at Best Buy for $10 and nabbed it at the speed of light.
- The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. on DVD. This show has never seen an HD release, it was cancelled after one season, presumably because it was too weird for the TV execs at the time. It's a bizzarre western, sci-fi, comedy... thing. Starring Bruce Campbell. In other words, it's everything I look for in my media.
Excited to work my way through all this stuff!
