Look, all I'm saying is if you've never had instant ramen that wasn't cooked in a microwave, then you've never had good instant ramen.

If it's the brick of noodles in a packet, you boil 2 cups of water in a small pot and cook the noodles in the water until soft, strain excess water, and then add seasonings. If it's in the disposable cups or paper bowls, boil water in a kettle or pot and pour the hot water in, and steep it, like tea.

It's so much better in every conceivable way for really not that much more effort or time, I promise.

for noodle bricks, i just like to put it in a wide bowl, pour piping hot water in until desired broth level (no need to submerge noodles), cover with a plate, and periodically flip/stir the softening noodles.
lower effort than a pot, and cannot get overcooked in the same way (my mom always overcooked instant noodles in a pot)

never tried microwaving it, though.
probably because, as a canadian, i've probably internalized some of the commonwealth snobbery re: microwaves vs. kettles. 😅✨
