chosting around at the speed of sound

Today I mostly played +R and Vsav. I couldnt get many matches due to Vsav being pretty empty as usual, and having connection issues in +R, so I mostly labbed more CL SW loop stuff. I'm getting better at timing my clean hits and finishing the combo with a bandit revolver, but theres some things I still need to work on, namely:

  1. Knowing how to sw loop in different parts of the screen, especially near the corner
  2. Doing sw loops from different starters than wild throw and BR RRC

I also need to start practicing safejump setups more so I dont get thrown out of them all the time

In vsav, I really need to work on defense. That means getting more reliable guard cancels, getting comfy with pushblock, anti airs that arent DP (I tried using MK more today and it worked a lot!) and learning how to just hold shit. Plus knowing when I can punish or OS approaches. On the bright side, I think crLK into midnight pleasure is easier than I thought. I dont need to pause before inputting midnight pleasure, I can piano the buttons into each other, which is pretty easy since the buttons I need to press are very close.

I know I still have a long road ahead of me but I want to keep walking it this year instead of giving up and just playing casuals because practice isn't as fun as hanging out with friends and playing, and reflecting on my mistakes is too cringe.

Oh, I also watched the Xrd exhibitions TXT is doing, there were some amazing matches, joy vs Eschatoast was especially fun (though I'm sad Akai wasn't feeling well enough to play. I hope they can get another chance before FF). I also need to go over the replay of Sylvia and Raye's match so I can see what I can learn about the Sin matchup and follow what she does for air to air and anti air conversions, it's something I still struggle with. you can catch the vod (and even more from TXT/NKO) here once it get's posted. I'll try and replace this with a real link once it's up. https://www.youtube.com/@oxyacetylene_
