It's not the best news, no; in fact, I'm sure that some of us--most of us, even!--are uneasy about our collective and immediate exile to Belmonte Island in the Arquipélago de São Pedro e São Paulo, an island of abyssal oceanic crust thrust to the surface of the tropical Atlantic by tectonic convergence, an island containing only the most marginal vegetation and a human population of no more than a few scientists (and soon us).
