I'm watching Ammonite (2020). Kate Winslet is really good in this! Saoirse Ronan is also there.
A few really great scenes but frankly I found a lot of the film too... obvious? The narrative establishes these very convenient scenarios to move the plot along--a diary with Anning's inner feelings, a timely illness, there was only one bed--at the expense of the film's characters, who often seem to have just been swept along for the ride.
