Obviously transmission repair remains the premier example of the category "profession with initially totally innocuous shorthand which sounded increasingly transphobic as language and culture shifted over the decades" but I think there ought to be an honorary mention to meteorologists inasmuch as "TS Debby" is the sort of phraseology I am accustomed to seeing on very niche websites with charmingly web-one-oh design philosophies
