aaaaaaaa my doctor's office has started adding preferred names to their mailing addresses, but in the following format:

Holly "Cliff" Jerrison

no no no no this is so much worse

if you think the mail won't get delivered right without the deadname then just put that, god knows I see it often enough. or if you want to respect preferred names do that and figure the address and last name is enough to get it delivered. but in Today's Fraught Political Climate please for the love of god do not put what amounts to "TRANS PERSON LIVES HERE" on the outside of the envelope

like half the time my mail is addressed to my fursona and USPS has never once refused it, or even looked at me funny handing it over. how in the

I have known people who received mail under literal aliases. The name helps them forward the mail if you move or if something is lost, but USPS will deliver mail to the correct address without it
