I didn't realize how big a deal it was at the time, but ʻOumuamua was not just one of those asteroids that makes news every now and then by coming kinda closeish to Earth. It was the first ever interstellar body to be observed in the Solar System. This rock was, in a way almost nothing else we encounter is, Not From Here. We don't even know which star system it's from. Not any of the close ones.
