As a minor coaster nerd I am so bummed about this. Cedar Fair runs their parks decently, not a Disney/Universal level of production value but they try. Six Flags... does not try. Here's your fucking coasters, half of them are closed, get out of our face. The theme of our park is "blacktop in the sun" and our mascot is a piece of plywood with a Tweety Bird decal on it. Fuck you.

I once locked my wallet and phone inside a locker at Six Flags New England and then realized I needed money from my wallet to open the locker. No problem, I thought, I'll just talk to the staff member running the lockers... oh that's no one. Well, I'll find a security guard... no I won't. So I'll go to a food vendor... the only ones open are run by outside contractors. Practically no staff other than the ride operators. I had to walk all the way out to the front gate to find a person who could call for help, which arrived a brisk 45 minutes later.

And the point isn't "oh no! I was inconvenienced!" but that level of understaffing does not indicate a company that is doing well and gives a shit.

Maybe it'll go the other way and they'll raise Six Flags' standards to Cedar Fair's level? They definitely won't but wouldn't that be nice.

Six Flags Ohio one is a photo of the entrance to Cedar Fair in Sandusky Ohio, and Michigan's Adventure is one of the only Cedar Fair parks that hasn't recieved a new addition in, god, a decade? not even a flat ride, it's pretty neglected and there's rumors they're gonna sell it for the land

The hot blacktop everywhere aesthetic does work for Six Flags Over Texas since that's just how every city in Texas is built.

Really sells its Texas themed park in the heart of Texas themed Dallas, Texas.

the nearest six flags to me is the one that's shoved halfway up the ass of a zoo (with the diving tiger show, you've probably seen pictures), and about which I have Decidedly Mixed Feelings.

I used to go every year (military discount day) but haven't been in a while. also they tore down my favorite roller coaster in 2017.

a white tiger grimacing as it searches for a piece of meat underwater. despite the scary swimming faces the tigers do appear to really love this
