*as is my god-given right as a survival game player who feels that exploring and gathering resources are fun, and having those activities interrupted by a shark gnawing on your ass every three seconds is not

*shift+enter, then type "invisible" and enter. remember to re-do every time you start the game. as a side benefit, this disables achievements.

No Man's Sky was my fishbowl of happiness until they made a bunch of the wildlife player-aggressive. noooooooo I was fine watching the six-legged plasticine cougar hunt the plasticine antelope flowers, it was fine, this does not need to be a Combat Opportunity

Survival games love to give you no effective weapons and tell you to git gud at running and hiding, which is fine in a realistic sort of wilderness scenario where you encounter genuinely threatening wildlife maybe a couple times a year, but not if they are every ten feet
