the ping pong writing method, in which the first paragraph establishes a premise, the second disagrees, the third reconsiders the premise, and so forth, is a bad habit of mine

or is it? it shows a willingness to consider both sides of an argument

but an inability to commit to a position

on the other hand, presenting both pros and cons doesn't have to imply they're equal in magnitude, sometimes you talk through both sides in order to make the case for one

although if the entire essay/article/post/whatever continues in this fashion you probably aren't really doing that

then again, when I'm writing very informally like this I shouldn't hold myself to any sort of strict quality standards, it's okay to just think aloud

however anything written for another person to read shouldn't be a complete waste of their time

nonetheless, conversely, anyway, despite that, regardless, here we are
