after three rounds of interviews I didn't get the job, not sure what their problem was but oh well, back to applications
I have some uncomfortable suspicions based on the fact that they loved my resume and remote interview and then the day after the in-person interview it was an immediate no, but idk, maybe I failed some question at the interview and didn't realize it. anyway what's to be done but move on, if it was for shitty reasons the last thing I'd want is to be stuck there
the more I think about this... the situation as I understood it was that they wanted to start someone as soon as possible--like, next Monday soon--and I was the only well qualified candidate to apply. I ticked every box on the skills they said they were looking for. we had gotten to the point of establishing pay rate and hours and filling out a background check form.
then I show up in person and everyone is very nice but 12 hours later they tell the recruiter nah, they'd rather leave the position open and wait for another applicant than hire me. the agency recruiter sounded honestly kind of shocked that they had done a 180 on this so fast and said she'd asked for feedback but not gotten any response.
so it's possible I just severely flunked the in-person interview in some way I didn't notice at all at the time... or they saw my fat trans body and that was the problem.
there's nothing actionable here unless they're stupid enough to tell the recruiter "we decided to discriminate based on protected characteristics" in exactly those words, but this smells real bad.
all I can do is apply elsewhere and roll the dice again, but I'm just really bummed about this today.
