I like a microblogging platform.
Twitter by its nature of limited character count means that I can very quickly ascertain whether that tweet on my timeline is something that I care about or not, and whether I scroll past it or click through to it. If I want to read a long thread, I can do so, but at its face the entrance to that thread is a single tweet just like any other, and I can scroll past it in half a second. I can fit a lot of tweets on my screen and scan them visually to figure out what intrigues me or not.
In addition to the duplicate-shared-posts fix mentioned, it'd be nice if there was a way to force all chosts to be collapsed down to a specific size β the automatic "read more" tag on long posts helps, but I haven't seen it kick in automatically if a post has, say, several large vertical images embedded in a body with a small amount of words.
