My mom signed me up for piano lessons when I was in elementary school; in middle school, I played percussion in the school band; and in high school, I played drums in a rock band. I sold the drum kit when I went to college, got big into Guitar Hero and then Rock Band, eventually getting a Pro Drum kit for that. Meanwhile, I took a couple of guitar lessons and picked up a Jackson Dinky, which I later sold for a Squier Stratocaster, and I also later won an Ibanez acoustic in a contest at my old job. I’ve since given away my Rock Band instruments to a local friend; I still have one plastic guitar, plus the Squier and the Ibanez, along with a plastic Taiko drum for the Switch port of Drum & Fun, and a recently-acquired Stylophone Beat for noodling around.

That all being said, my guitars mostly collect dust, except on the occasions where I learn some particular riff to impress a fox girl I really like. I’ve put some hours into Rocksmith but I’d love to properly learn guitar, both playing songs by-ear and writing original music.

I took two years of Japanese and two years of German in high school, spent a month in Munich and forgot every word of it. Any language is fun to curse in, but Spanish is one of the most common spoken languages and it’d be useful to speak it fluently.
