if i have a indeterminately in/complete archive of pictures for sad children pages, should I put that on the internet archive or what. is that legal/allowed?

edit: it was a webcomic

edit edit: an interview with the author was released a bit ago and she's selling copies again, so nvm!

last I remember from the author was her asking not to have a wikipedia article about her or the comic; I infer from that a desire to not have it publicly available. My take would be handing around a digital copy (or the physical book) from person to person seems okay, but I'd hesitate before putting it online in a open space. Maybe things have changed, and it's not like disseminating an artist's work is the worst of transgressions, but I've known enough people who wanted their past work removed from the public eye that I'd hesitate or consider what she might want.
