OK so I know this video has been shared a lot lately but I finally had a chance to watch it and it turns out it is really good. Not only is it a very satisfying takedown of one of the most annoying people in game audio, there are some larger points at the end, dealing with who gets credited for their creative labor, that are really important.
It's funny because in film/TV music the credits situation is even worse, and many of people I know in film/TV are weirdly blasé about it, like they regard getting credited for their creative labor as a luxury or a bonus, something nice but not at all necessary. I'm vaguely horrified this, but film/TV composers frequently act like I'm a stuffy old-fashioned academic for caring about it. So it's nice to see some real rage about this in the game audio space.
(My suspicion is this kind of bullshit is rampant in the AAA game industry, which is always trying to model itself after the film industry. I think things are USUALLY better in indie games, with the huge asterisk that I don't know what happens in 99% of studios and my industry scene knowledge is like 10 years out of date.)
