I really don't know how "feral" caught on as a name for characters with 4 legs over just calling them what they are, quadrupeds

i've enjoyed the term theriomorphic as the opposite of anthropomorphic ever since a friend introduced it to me some years ago

I always figured it caught on back in the day due to feral druids in world of warcraft

i dunno, if you interpret it as "free from human interference" then it works pretty well as a contrast to "anthro"

quadrupeds isn't accurate for feral avians though given that uhh

simple: don't make bird characters, beaks are weird
