What would the modern equivalent of Mojang adding Endermen based on Slenderman be?

Whatever is memey. If the Backrooms had existed in 2010, we would have definitely had something like that. And a pretentious essay justifying it.
I just had a terrible idea: datapack that replaces strongholds with the backrooms.
