Hmm.... what if Hardspace Shipbreaker, but you're exploring an enormous derelict space station or capital ship....

Having to carefully navigate debris-filled rooms, check the air pressure behind every door before you cut. Trying to get to the bridge to retrieve the black box, to restore power to various sectors to download crew logs from the ship's computer.

Finally repairing the power conduits to a section of the ship, only to find the artificial gravity is malfunctioning, pulling you against walls and ceilings as you try to keep your bearings

there's a moment in xenogears where the plot is like, hey, there's this giant ancient spaceship and we have to get something from it

and I thought 'fuck yes, space hulk dungeon'

and then it was just a boss fight bc that was past the point they ran out of money, and I was so disappointed

I keep thinking about how cool this would be

Partially because i just finished dead space and went right into hardspace shipbreaker, two games on completely opposite ends of the "game where you're a space engineer with a hi-tech cutter" spectrum

this would be a fun spot in the middle, i think
