i'm once again tempted to start a backloggd or whatnot just to keep track of stuff i watch. might even motivate me to watch more stuff?
i'm once again realizing that the seventh attempt to track my life won't work out any better
anyway i've watched some good movies lately
- Aftersun (2022), incredible and broke me down
- The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), extremely funny, story didn't quite hit yet but maybe on a rewatch?
- Sorry to Bother You (2018), great energetic comedy/drama/sci-fi and also, was that fucking David Cross as the white voice? googles yes, yes it was.
- Oppenheimer (2023), i'm a physicist and liked those parts, but the McCarthy court room drama was very mid
- Shin Godzilla (2016), the better kind of disaster movie. love how it despises the japanese government and uncaring western politicians.
the movies! (plus)
- Blazing Saddles (1974), rewatch and still very funny. appreciated the acting more than anything this time around, the cast is incredible. and i'll always love when a movie ends with just a whole bunch of people getting together in a single shot, here just punching the shit of eachother. the movies!!!
- Hot Shots: Part Deux (1993), A without the ZZ just isn't up to the task. some alright gags, but mostly weak. a movie
- Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023). knew exactly what it should go for and nailed it. took more than 20 years for a proper follow up to The Mummy but hollywood finally managed. the movies!
- Anatomy of a Fall (2023): tense story and courtroom drama. love how it shows the aftermath of traumatic events from multiple viewpoints. great needle drop. the movies!
