was tired of my (multiple) desktop and mobile podcasts status not being synced. don't feel like paying for a premium podcast service either.
so i finally took the leap and hired a cheap server to self host all that on. yay! added bonus of moving my (static) website to that server too.
all in all, a good few hours of fun learning to set things up. the podcast service [1] seems to work fine and the website is quick enough. need to dig a bit more into advanced server security but all good for now.
and hey if all works out i'll finally be able to listen seamlessly to good old Friends at the Table wherever i am
hurray! i managed to add a reverse proxy after lots of reading and hair tearing (mainly due to me underestimating how long it would take the subdomain to propagate through the DNS records)
now i feel secure and teeming with power. should i next add an rss server to sync across my devices? put all my music on there and stream it whereever?? host a doom deathmatch server??
