So many CRT filters are great and all, but I just find them to be a distraction if they're too clean. That wasn't the typical CRT experience, most folks didn't have pixels so sharp they'd cut their eyes just looking at em. CRTs had a softer display, there was a slight blur, there was scanline interference, chroma smearing, the CRT experience was full of little imperfections. Retro filters like to say they're drawing from the nostalgia of the CRT days, but they aren't; what you get is a sanitized and clean unused image, something nigh unheard of. How is that based in nostalgia?

There is an art to CRT filters that's going unexplored. There is beauty and nostalgia in those little imperfections, and I wish more people could see that.
