Hey everyone, just so you know I'm gonna start my first physics post soon—I'll be writing about the many-body physics (specifically in condensed matter physics) for laypeople. I feel like many body physics is often ignored by the public, and it's a big shame since the subject is so useful and cool. You'll be able to read the post on my regular blog. I'm not gonna give myself a deadline, but I'd imagine it's going to be in about a week, give or take a few days depending how much I dedicate myself to writing.
Ultimately, I want all my physics posts to be about more boring topics. The general public usually gets to hear about physics only when it's (a) really, really earth-shattering, fundamental shit, or (b) when it might have a big impact on daily life (quantum computers, but their everyday applications outside a select few fields—despite what tech corporations want you to think—are actually quite dubious). You people don't usually get to hear about all the stuff in between, like Tomanaga-Luttinger liquids or topological insulators. I'm not gonna be writing for the "I FUCKING LOVE SCIENCE" crowd, rather I'll be writing for the "I think science is pretty neat :)" crowd.
I'd like to invite other scientists and engineers to do the same, so that way we can share our (mostly useless) knowledge with the (cohost) world!
