well, discoverability is kind of a known problem, but i don't think having An Algorithm™ is the only (or best) way to accomplish that.
personally what's worked best for me so far is checking out specific tags -- in my case, particularly #woodworking and #machining, plus various animes and such.
i would like some kind of Tag Ontology, so there aren't a bunch of different tags for the same/similar things (anime is particularly bad because there'll be japanese, english, romaji, and possibly shortened versions of each). but as one of the devs pointed out the other way this is difficult to do, especially since they don't want it to require a bunch of volunteer labour
Yeah I think this is just part of the learning curve for me. It doesn’t help that I don’t have a list of immediate interests I can go look on the tag for other than very broad stuff like “art”. It’ll get better with time
