You can do <img alt="alt text here" src="image-url-here"> if you want to add extra CSS to the images. You can also do  for inline images in just markdown.
Unfortunately I'm not sure you can easily upload images to go inline, there's a blackle post about how that works though, let me find it.

yeah, i was looking for like. using a small image as a like. corner piece for text to go around? but that may be asking too much lmao
If you mean like when you stick an image in a word processor and the text flows around it, you're looking for the float CSS property. I think <img style="float: left" ...> is what you need?

I think in principle you could make the exact same kind of grid layout here…
Oh right I think the key thing is,
You can just write HTML, and you can write markdown inside the HTML, but I think you have to have a blank line between the HTML and the markdown, like
<div>
- normal markdown here
</div>
