I tried so hard to find a Miata in my budget when I was last car shopping, specifically an NA even. The car I did buy back then is going really tetchy on me now... :/
yeah they definitely jumped a lot in the past five years, although they still are cheap to run right now at least
my bff had one and drove it like his motorcycle and boy was riding in it the most thrilling and terrifying
we have our primary dream car (2019 fiesta) and a miata is our second dream car, and we see so many of them in seattle. it's great!
fiestas are cool; fiesta st is one I REALLY love a lot! similar ethos, too!
we got the st-line cos we never learned how to drive stick (we know in theory) but wanted some of the features, and we wanted it in—
us: ford calls this color "outrageous green"
folks we tell this to: yes, it is
"it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow"
man i love the mx5 but i straight up do not fit in the NA/NB models with the roof up
spare a thought for those of us who don't fit with it down either, because leg too long
I barely kinda fit, but it's much better with the roof down admittedly. luckily NCs are still fantastic
Congrats on the new full-time job.
I've never been a big car enthusiast, but I do enjoy reading your articles because of the way you contextualize the vehicle that you are reviewing, and how your passion for them, the surrounding culture, and the history comes through.
Thank you so much! to me, cars are very fun, but they're not interesting without the broader culture, so I'm really glad I capture some of that!
