folks, because a lot of you are talking about very ambitious goals for posting websites i feel like it's important to say please run through a mania checklist before you start something that requires [you continue caring about it all the way through or people will lose their stuff]

bipolar is notoriously hard to diagnose and there's a wide swath of stuff and I've just seen tooooooo many get burned to a crisp the last 5 times a website closed.

you don't even need to disqualify yourself you just need to go into it with eyes open you know?

i am working on building my side of things in such a way that if i vanish into the desert it will keep working, at the very least in a technical sense and hopefully a social one. there are many reasons i do not want to be "in charge"

The only thing that gives me confidence I'm not having any sort of manic episode, is that I'm pretty sure I won't actulaly do anything with my ideas beyond the "apt install gophernicus" on my fileserver that I already did.

YEAH I MADE THIS MISTAKE, last year i tried to make an rp forum while hypomanic and it's just sitting abandoned now. thankfully it's hosted on a free service and nobody actually got around to doing any roleplaying on it bc it was still very unfinished.

speaking of hypomania, to anyone reading this right now who needs it, type two bipolar disorder and cyclothymia are things that exist and if you think you couldn't possibly be bipolar and certainly not manic Right Now because whatever symptoms you're showing are "too mild," you might have one of those! just something to keep in mind while checking!
