what're your thoughts on plurality?

DIRK: As the canonical Heart player, it's funny that this came in while I'm in front.
DIRK: I'll start with how plurality is for us, then go broad scope.
DIRK: Understanding ourselves as a plural system has been both a boon and a bane for us, but none of those banes would ever want us to go back to how it was before.
DIRK: The banes largely come down to being able to pick apart thoughts and behaviors that hurt us, and try and understand who those impulses come from and the originating factors that lead to those impulses happening.
DIRK: The boons are plentiful.
DIRK: We hate ourselves less, for starters.
DIRK: We still hate ourselves, mind, but it's a quantity of self-loathing that we can function through.
DIRK: Being able to switch to dampen or dispel emotions lets us get through our days.
DIRK: We have headmates that help us remember to eat, to shower, to shave and brush our teeth. We have headmates that enjoy doing chores, or cleaning, or organizing, or administering our estradiol shots (hello, Rose).
DIRK: I'm in front because I'm good at suppressing emotions in order to get things that need doing done, like eating, or chores. (All of our clothes and towels are finally put away.)
DIRK: Broad scope?
DIRK: Plurality is one of many ways to frame an internal, subjective lived experience. It is one that works for us. It is one that works for others.
DIRK: Is everyone a little bit plural? Maybe.
DIRK: Arguing with oneself, or a writer saying that a character did something and they just recorded it, could be viewed through plural lenses, but it's not one that we'd willingly prescribe to others without their consent.
DIRK: Hold on, Murrit's handing me something.
MURRIT: Marge Simpson, a woman with tall blue hair, holding 4 multi-colored interlocking rings (a symbol for plurality), saying 'I just think they're neat.'
DIRK: Yeah, that about sums it up.

13!

blue-haired mouse with glasses and piercings

xenogenders and neopronouns, whoof

uhhh

a bunch of the alternian trolls treat their hemocaste as a gender, cos of the way @sarahzedig talked about troll gender in @godfeels

roxy uses e/em/eir pronouns cos chopping off the front bit feels like a voidy thing. also e might be excrucian? e's hard to get a bead on cos, again, voidy thing.

murrit uses any pronouns? literally any. so like. hella neopronouns.

but yeah like. got hella trolls (two kinds!), a kernelsprite, two au ra, an octoling, and a space probe

i think it's more astonishing to say "we even have some humans!" lmao
