*We are truly going to miss Cohost, but sometimes, regardless of your opinion on the matter, you need to let go. Our time here has fundamentally changed parts of us; we will go out into the greater internet dyed by our time spent here. This website is closing, but the people who we knew and followed here are still going to be around, just a little more scattered than before.

*As for our plans, we're thinking about starting up a blog with a few friends, but that's in the planning stages still. For now, you can reach us, and keep track of our going ons at:

I'm finding my words here. I am gonna miss this place. I'm gonna hold onto my eggbug plush dearly. Cohost gave us a taste of what a chill social media space could look like. But a big part of that was born from the fact that Cohost was a smaller userbase and not some ubiquitous hub like Twitter became. Staff did an amazing job, I don't want to discount that, I don't think what we brought to Cohost exclusively belongs to Cohost. We'll bring some of that with us to our next stops. And I think it's good to have next stops. The stagnation born of spending over a decade having only two or three websites is why we needed something like Cohost in the first place.

I appreciate all the support, followers, friends I found here. Y'all kept me floating, and I think I am finding myself in a much better place now than when I first landed here. I hope we can spin some of that forward. Doomscroll less, catastrophize less, give other people the benefit of the doubt but take no shit from obvious bad actors. Don't let engagement and numbers be the only thing driving what you create, and know that posting things true to yourself is going to help you find a handful of people you can reach sincerely more than catering to the highest amount of fickle masses.

As a reminder, at least as of this post I'll be primarily heading to Masto, and art stuff will be on a separate Mastodon and Bluesky, as well as tashepard.art and roxie.tashepard.art once I'm done assembling those. I've got something cooking for October so I'll toss that announcement on here as well as those accounts tomorrow before we get streaming.

I hope I'll see y'all around, making the next place calmer, sillier, earnest, kinder too.
