Still a very nice con even if it's getting too big now.
I am still a huge proponent of having to wait for an elevator rather than walk a half mile, even when they break, but at this point they 100% need to have people manning the elevators all weekend. Volunteers or staff, but people need to have the authority to put suiters in first and have everyone getting on the elevator on the same floor. And maybe not overstuff them so they fail less. They may very well need to do this at the other hotels too, the Hilton had similar issues over the weekend.
The game room was amazing. Not only is it packed with great stuff to play but since it's not a video game focused con, you can actually play them a lot too. No gigantic lines. The network issues in there were unfortunate, that's an easy fix with some planning by con IT next year I'd hope. Not a lot of bandwidth being used by the cabs, they just need some QoS love.
I still think they make the rave too loud, I could hear it at the Hilton. I've brought this up to staff in the past and the response I get is usually a childish "tee hee, yeah it's loud! :3" which sucks. BUT, I did not actually go into the rave this year so maybe it's an unfortunate side effect of the room being used. I'll put that down as a maybe.
Overall actual con wise, it felt like they were a bit understaffed/volunteered again (can't talk, I don't volunteer) but otherwise it went pretty well from my perspective. As I've mentioned in a previous chost, if you don't go to a con you only hear about bad stuff and not the vast majority of the people at the con having a blast. "Wow I had a great time!" doesn't get traction on shitty social sites like "OH MY GOD LOOK AT THIS maybe false AWFUL THING!"
Personally? I had a really nice time. I still missed a lot of things to do and people to see because it was so busy, but I still had a very good time. If anything I'd be interested in the con being longer to make it easier to see everyone, but I doubt that's going to happen in the next year or two. Maybe if BLFC's experiment goes super well.
