What gets me the most about gacha stuff, particularly when it involves rare waifus, is most times you could probably pay the artist (or at least AN artist) to draw something just for you for way less money than you'd pump into the game.
The answer, obviously, is that doesn't get the dopamine flowing in quite the same way, even though it really should.
The only game I ever played that would qualify as gacha was Xenoblade 2. Even then, despite my effort to get the rarest crystals to get the one ultra-rare Blade, she ended up dropping from a common one. Go figure. At least that gacha system didn't cost real money...
