I'm under the impression that the way they're detecting the use of adblock actually is in violation of EU privacy laws so this is probably the best chance we have to kill it, at least in Europe.
Oh I'd assume there's a very good chance that it actually is, but as with most of these things the law moves so slowly that it doesn't matter a whole bunch. They've got plenty of time to try and run out this arms race before the EU gets around to fining them.
