At least the profile cosmetics exist in an ecosystem where you earn them as an incentive for buying video games and/or dropping funny memes in the reviews for games you already do own so it's slightly better than paid-for avatars like what you used to have on PlayStation and Xbox Live.
I wish there was an alternative client for Steam, sort of like Legendary/Rare exists for EGS.
It would be nice! Like I'm ok with steam for what it is (, I don't use it much at all if the OP doesn't make that obvious) but the client just has so much CRAP going on it opens 5 windows when I start it or whatever and each one is blasting me with animations and crap just, fuck you let me windows95 your ass.
