I occasionally write long posts but you should assume I'm talking out of my ass until proved otherwise. I do like writing shit sometimes.

50/50 chance of suit pictures end up here or on the Art Directory account. Good luck.

Be 18+ or be gone you kids act fuckin' weird.

I tag all of my posts complaining about stuff #complaining, feel free to muffle that if you'd like a more positive cohost experience.

gonna preface this by saying that tragically, I still haven't managed to fully unplug from twitter (too many people there who haven't moved elsewhere, too much good stuff {mostly art} that does filter down to my timeline) which naturally exposes me to the usual discourse, but... shit got me thinking.

y'know how none of the people who balk at the very barest hint of a pup hood ever say a goddamn word about all the straight sexuality we're surrounded with? the shit that's fucking everywhere in advertising, popular entertainment, etc etc etc? it's never "stop telling rape jokes in front of my kids", it's always "if I have to see the barest hint of a latex suit before 9 PM I'm calling the police". the kind of shit that if you're in the right part of town will attract compliments even from the normie crowd. part of it's lashing out at things that are actually within easy reach, sure (yelling at people generally achieves more than yelling into the void and expecting a corporate board to pick up on it somehow) but like... it's still just targeting queer sexuality to the point where even the merest hint of it is strictly verboten.

idk. maybe I'm just being painfully european here and out of touch with american cultural norms, but a kid isn't going to be scarred forever by being in the presence of people in rubber animal suits that they aren't interacting with in any sort of sexual manner, with their parents present no less. they have more to fear from their local priest, if anything, and acting like an overgrown ten year old raised on nothing but shame about it won't help anyone.

Some cons in the US have been making big pushes to be a lot more horny friendly at least part of the time. I like to poo poo on FWA, the local con, but they've done a very good job in that regard. I feel like a lot of the "bluh it's gotta be sfw" stuff comes from the older generation (gestures at AC) and reactionary shit.

And yeah it's queerphobic as fuck, I sure as hell see a lot more skin from people dressed up for the club (, straight) than at most furcons. But a bulge? Oh no we can't have any bulges!

I'm absolutely waiting for the first time someone gets asked by an actual con staff to dress different because they're presenting some fursuit titty too. It's GONNA happen sooner or later.

wiggles arms in the direction of cat woman "she's right there! Right fucking there! It's fine! she's been right there for years! ITS FINE. If the rubber animal suit people aren't doing anything super sexy the kid'll just think it's a batman thing"

"so long as they're not actually hurting anyone" - is my general stance.
And honestly considering the heroes of most kids involve something skintight (hello MCU). Parents really need shaddap and look in their own proverbial backyard before they cast judgement...
Oh waaait, they're not concerned with those because most of the big names are straight, innit?

Sigh.

I don't even think these people have kids sometimes. I think they're just uncomfortable with it for whatever reason and or trying to appease the normies for some reason but like we're always gonna be an out group embrace it and be yourself
