I occasionally write long posts but you should assume I'm talking out of my ass until proved otherwise. I do like writing shit sometimes.

50/50 chance of suit pictures end up here or on the Art Directory account. Good luck.

Eyes rolling into the back of my head when someone's response to "ah I don't like this game company so I don't give them money and play other stuff" is "oh but the game is really good!"

can't believe company is the only company that makes good game. the production of high quality game limited to a small group of individuals who have cracked the game code. no one else can make game THIS good and we must bend our own personal values in order to experience such amazing game.

Or you're just a fucking numpty that refuses to think critically about your own participation in the world around you. Good thing you look like a doofus when you talk about it.

I feel like company could apply to a few different developers/publishers here, and frankly, the ability to Just Not Buy Things is one of the few actual forms of agency people have left in our current capitalist hellscape, so power to people who actually have and stick to that principle.

That said, Gamers really are one of the most beaten subcultures when it comes to having no actual principles at this point.

My ability to spend my "I don't need this to survive" money is the most functional tool I have for making any impact in the world and I use it as much as I can.

Subsequently, it's one of my biggest pet peeves when the mere suggestion of doing such is met with the kind of offended response like you just insulted their favorite deity. Again, I see that as just an outright refusal to accept and think about their role in such things, and gestures broadly society encourages that kind of mindset because it keeps the money flowing.

This is also why all of the payment processor stuff irks me deeply, aside form the obvious "this impacts people's ability to live" stuff. Because I also see it as a very large corporation trying to shift spending away from individuals and back towards large companies.

And also and also, games are one of the most fucking easy things to do this with. You have virtually unlimited choice in how you spend your money, and all of it is 100% optional. You can just stop playing all video games immediately and you will in fact continue to exist just fine. They're 100% optional.

But, again, Gamers.
