I occasionally write long posts but you should assume I'm talking out of my ass until proved otherwise. I do like writing shit sometimes.
50/50 chance of suit pictures end up here or on the Art Directory account. Good luck.
Be 18+ or be gone you kids act fuckin' weird.

I tag all of my posts complaining about stuff #complaining, feel free to muffle that if you'd like a more positive cohost experience.

never used it for that purpose, and I find compose combinations significantly easier to learn over alt codes.
that's great, that's not how my computer is set up and caps lock works better for me
waiting for the "escape on tap, control on hold" sickos to crash the comments. where they at????
even more sick: i use it as esc on tap and a QMK layer toggle on hold!
genuine question though: why not? i literally do not know a downside to this lol
the only software i know of that actually accepts holding escape as a keybind is Desktop Goose and why would you want to exit Desktop Goose
i do not even know what QMK layer means!! but i love this for you
my personal "why not" is: i tried it for a few days and found that the cognitive effort it took to use it was greater than any workflow benefit! and/or maybe i didn't dial the trigger time/conditions for turning it into control correctly. but i do love that it's a thing you can do at all and was certainly excited to try it!!
oh yeah i remember now: i think it was adding a slight delay to esc that was driving me a little insane. because the computer could only process esc on key up rather than key down. this doesn't sound real but i am so sure it was real for me
that does make sense! im the type of person who switches layouts for fun, understandable that that may not be everyone's cup of tea lol
literally just ctrl here; i'm not a vim user so i simply don't hit esc enough to need it on the home row.
Turned off entirely because I kept hitting it by accident in games, same as the windows key
It occurs to me I could put ctrl there and see if that's less awkward to reach than the actual ctrl, but idk, my current setup lets me hold it so easily by moving the heel of my hand a little that I do it on accident sometimes
Esc on tap, control on hold, caps lock on double tap. It sounds like a lot because it is but since esc substitutes for alt inside emacs it means all my common modifiers are on the same key when I'm in there.
