"Hey what if you just made a local folder with the exact same layout you'd want your mp3 player's files and just rsync that out?"
Where the fuck has this thought been for all these years and why haven't I had it before, god damnit
I occasionally write long posts but you should assume I'm talking out of my ass until proved otherwise. I do like writing shit sometimes.
50/50 chance of suit pictures end up here or on the Art Directory account. Good luck.
Be 18+ or be gone you kids act fuckin' weird.

I tag all of my posts complaining about stuff #complaining, feel free to muffle that if you'd like a more positive cohost experience.

I had to do something similar for my Zune after I discovered that the way the Zune/Zune software handles album art was to extract the art from the mp3, save two copies of the art in the mp3's folder at the two resolutions the Zune/software needed, and set those files it made as System Hidden. (this also meant that for any given folder, the Zune could only have one album art for any mp3 in that folder)
I can only assume they did this because for whatever reason they didn't want to have the Zune try to handle processing images that might be at different sizes and formats.
