I occasionally write long posts but you should assume I'm talking out of my ass until proved otherwise. I do like writing shit sometimes.

50/50 chance of suit pictures end up here or on the Art Directory account. Good luck.

Be 18+ or be gone you kids act fuckin' weird.

I tag all of my posts complaining about stuff #complaining, feel free to muffle that if you'd like a more positive cohost experience.

I might try and do a "Music Plum listened to this year" even if it'll be a little sparse because I don't have the time or energy to be full DJ brain

Side note, the real hardest part of DJing is keeping up with the music. Because it's basically your job to know all the nooks and crannies of the genres you mix. And there's a lot, a lot, a lot of fucking music out there now, and usually a lot of people making it.

yep! honestly i put way more money into beatport than I could even dream of recouping from gigs. and tbh it kinda fucked my music listening habits for several years. If I ever DJ any kind of thing again I'm just playin my faves from the last 20 years of dance music and random stuff I come across personally that I happen to like

If your collection is deep enough you can still ride not playing new stuff for sure.

And it really does fuck with your listening habits! My brain is like "you have to listen to stuff with your DJ ears on and take notes" and if I'm not doing that or it's not within my narrow window of what I want to listen to I just, can't. It's taken a LONG time to turn that off lol.

I don't think anyone gets into DJing expecting to make money lol. It costs a LOT of money and pay usually ain't shit unless you're doing gigs that people don't want to do. I got paid once, which was fun and I got to officially call myself a Professional DJ, but it didn't cover the plane ticket to get there. Worth it tho.

Oh yeah cons you're lucky to get reg lol.

I hope I can get the time and mental energy to get back into it, I'd love to DJ at a proper big con like FWA some time. But my main goal when I was DJing was to get more furries into hardcore (like the early 90s kind) and jungle, maybe I'll find the right person to give that bug to and let them go off and do the hard work lol

It's so nice to go to a con and not be worrying about DJ prep.
