I'm still upset that they control one of the very very very few racing games where you can paint your car and race friends who can see said car, without jumping through a bajillion hoops

Live For Speed publishes custom skin bases for the included car lineup, only catch is it's not like an in-game decal placer rather you have to go open it in an image editor and actually art the skin yourself
Pretty much every PC sim I've messed with requires distributing custom liveries manually in some form or fashion. None of them will just, load people's car paints in game automatically. At least last I messed with it.
To be fair it's been many years since I fired up LFS.
You can upload your skins in LFS and they will download for other people! Unfortunately they download at the other end at 512px unless you add money to your account to download at 1024px, not that you should be able to notice the quality too much in the middle of a race
