Most circuit auto racing: Track limits is when all four wheels leave the track*
* track includes curbs
Most motorcycle circuit racing: Track limits is the green part, if you touch the green part you're outside of the track
Rally racing: track limits is as far as you think you can go outside the track without hitting a rock that rips an entire corner of the car off
don't forget that for most of auto racing "all four wheels leave the track" has to be visually confirmed by an unpaid human to actually be counted. which is a fucking insane way of going about it if you ask me
