Every time people say "switch to firefox" all I can think is that they're essentially on a couple years out of date chrome, and will eventually catch up to the point to why they wanted to switch off of Chrome.
I'll have to retreat to Gopher and Gemini sites if this keeps going.
Or alternatively a Firefox "fork" with a marginally different UI and some settings changed (or maybe a Firefox fork based on a version of Firefox 10 years out of date). You're really sticking it to Mozilla there folks!
individual hypervigilance does not work to solve systemic problems. even if opting for an individualist solution were morally appropriate, in practical terms the systemic problem just keeps getting worse and worse until the things you do as an individual are no longer sufficient.
