If you ever lose the little piece of plastic that holds the pinchroller in place on your tape camcorder (or VCR), but you DO still have the pinch roller, you can probably fix it by putting the smallest piece of shrink wrap that still slides over the pin on, with the pinch roller underneath. Cut the shrink wrap as close to flush with the pin as you can. Hold a soldering iron onto the pin for 10-15 seconds. Give it a moment to cool and see if the pinch roller easily slides off, if so turn the iron up a bit and try again.
No promises you won't melt something but this fixed one of my DV cameras for a good while. It lost the roller again today but thankfully I didn't actually lose the roller so I did the same fix again.
I think I stole this from some youtube video about VCRs, not sure. Be careful not to melt anything touching the side of the iron.
