From reading the OpenSUSE docs, some bash top tips:
Ctrl–L Clears the screen and moves the current line to the top of the page. (I've always just typed clear)
Ctrl–U Deletes from cursor position to start of line.
Ctrl–K Deletes from cursor position to the end of line.
Not mentioned in the docs are using CTRL and the left and right arrows to skip entire words instead of one character at a time
