OpenSUSE was going extremely smoothly until "no no, multimedia is over there" messed up mpv.
(the secret, pending testing with a fresh install, is to add packman first, before anything else, also the gui by default will use http instead of https but that's an easy edit)
It was a little obtuse to find the right button but it's fixed now, and another fix done inside a gui. If you absolutely, positively do NOT want to touch a command line interface, OpenSUSE is pretty darn good.
