and maybe it is, but the hard drive was the soul. It was the entire sound of the computer, and really was the life of it. Then we decided they'd be more useful without a soul, and threw SSDs in instead. Now they're faster, but have no soul. Just another box to be used as a tool.
Well really they were always tools but I do like how hard drives sound.
I have an extra optical drive in my machine mostly just for more fun noises on startup
